Our Autumn Term Theme

Around the World in 109 Days

This term, our exciting theme is "Around the World in 109 Days!" Throughout the term, we will be exploring the seven continents and discovering fascinating countries from around the globe. Every fortnight, the children will focus on a different country, learning about its location, culture, landmarks, traditions, food, wildlife and daily life.

Through engaging activities across all areas of learning, pupils will develop their geographical knowledge, celebrate diversity, and gain a greater understanding of the world around them.

We look forward to taking the children on this exciting journey of discovery as we travel Around the World in 109 Days! 🌍✈️🗺️

Welcome to Year 3 Class!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our class page. We hope that you like what you see. 

On this page, you will be able to view some of the work that the children have done and what we are going to do. 

Reading Books 

Pupils are encouraged to read at home to an adult on a regular basis and reading is an integral part of education at Pen Rhos so we try to read as often as possible in class. That is by listening to the children reading AND reading to them. 

In 3RD the reading books are sent home on a Friday and MUST be returned on a Monday so that we can continue to help the children progress and change booked if needed. 

P.E. 

P.E. will take place every  Wednesday therefore please would you ensure that your child comes to school in gym kit on this day. Kit is a T-shirt and shorts/tracksuit trousers and trainers or black pumps. For your child’s safety, no jewellery is to be worn, and long hair should be tied back. 

Homework 

Homework will be in the yellow Gwaith Cartref book. Sometimes work will be uploaded to your child's HWB (J2Launch files) and you will be notified of this in the yellow book. Uploaded work will be in shared files and I will attach the instructions on how to access below as a reminder but also there are instructions in the front of the yellow  book.  

WE WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF EVERY EFFORT IS MADE TO COMPLETE THE HOMEWORK THAT IS SET SO THAT WE MAY LOOK OVER IT AND MARK IT. 

We  have Mental maths tests/ Spelling tests. I would be extremely grateful if you could help your child go over their times tables (2x 3x 4x 5x 10x for this term).
