Here is a link to a clear guide on how to access TEAMS. It will show you how to go through your child's HWB account to join the meet. I am really looking forward.
Work is uploaded weekly to the J2e files for completion at home. You will usually find words for a spelling test on a Friday which also need to put into a sentence on J2e. There will usually be another piece of work (Literacy or Numeracy).
This year (2021 - 2022) our themes are:
Autumn Term 1a - The Celts
Autumn Term 1b - Sensoria (light and sound)
Spring Term 2a - Flow (Rivers)
Spring Term 2b - Wythnos Cymraeg and Predator
Summer Term 3 - Scrumdiddlyumptious
Reading Books
Pupils are encouraged to read at home to an adult on a regular basis. Unfortunately, at the moment we will not be sending school readers home but reading is an integral part of education so here at PenRhos so we try to read as often as possible in class. That is listen to the children reading AND read to them.
P.E.
P.E. will take place every Wednesday therefore please would you ensure that your child comes to school in gym kit on this day. Kit is a T-shirt and shorts/tracksuit trousers and trainers or black pumps. For your child’s safety, no jewellery is to be worn, and long hair should be tied back.
Homework
Homework will be uploaded to your child's HWB (J2Launch files) weekly. It is in shared files and I will attach the instructions on how to access below as a reminder.
WE WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF EVERY EFFORT IS MADE TO COMPLETE THE HOMEWORK THAT IS SET SO THAT WE MAY LOOK OVER IT AND MARK IT.
We usually have spelling tests weekly (these words will also be uploaded to J2Launch) and Mental maths tests. I would be extremely grateful if you could help your child go over their times tables (2x 3x 4x 5x 10x for this term).
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s work and/or wellbeing at school please do not hesitate to contact me. This includes any issues with the online learning (HWB) and don't forget you can message me on J2messages.

Spring Term 1 theme is Flow.
From humble beginnings the river flows down the mountain and into the sea.
Pull on your wellies and wade right in…
Let’s go down to the riverbank and find out! Even if we do it virtually!!!
They will learn about rivers around the world such as the Nile, Amazon and Ganges and their journeys from source to sea. We will also with some luck be able to investigate our local river.
Pupils will also get creative using the flow of rivers to inspire their poetry writing and model making.
Our pupils should have a great half term of learning as they meander through the world of rivers, taking a dip in to their watery world!
I
In this theme we will be taking a walk on the wild side and looking at all kinds of animals. We shall be investigating where they live in the world, what they eat and how they are adapted to suit their environment. We shall be considering the address of animals that can be found in our local area - the habitats. In particular we are considering the new Pentre Awel Site and the development and its effect on the habitats. The children will be leading this Inquiry and thinking about what they would like to find out and how they would like to present what they learn.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our class page. We hope that you like what you see.
On this page, you will be able to view some of the work that the children have done and what we are going to do. The children are working exceptionally hard so far this year. We are very proud of them.
