Literacy - Pobble 365
Hello everyone :)
Today we are going to use - Pobble 365.
Click on the link attachment below called 'The Author'
Scroll down and click on pdf and the work will open up OR you can just use the screen. It's exactly the same!
What you need to do:
1 - To begin read the 'Story Starter'. Make a list of all the words that are new to you and find the meaning of them in a dictionary (or an online dictionary).
2 -Sentence challenge! Read the instructions carefully and look at the example. Now I want you to write 5 sentences using adjectives and remembering to use the comma between the adjectives.
3 - Question time! These are inferential questions, there is no right or wrong answer because it is what you think. Make sure you extend your answers giving reasons.
4 - Sick sentences! You need to add adverbs to the sentences. Adverbs describe the verbs.
5 - Perfect Picture! In your homework books design a cover for one of the books.
If you had written one of these books what would it have been about and why?
Remember, extended sentences and the use of punctuation in your work.
You can complete your work in your homework books, J2E5 or J2Office Writer - It is up to you!
Good luck :)
Science - Cone Car - Forces
Continuing with 'Forces' today i'd like you to make a Cone Car.
We know that air-resistance affects an object by either slowing it down or speeding it up. So today we are going to look at using air to speed up an object.
What you need to do:
1 - Click the link below to watch - Cone Car - Mad Science video clip (this will show you how to make your car)
2 - Read the 'Cone Car Instructions' for more help on making your cone cars
3 - Make your cone cars from materials in the video that you have at home (If you don't have some of the materials, talk with your adults to see if you can improvise - find something similar that you have at home)
4 - Test out your model!
When you have tested your Cone Cars - think about and discuss with your adults what would you change if you were to do it again that would make it go faster?
We would love to see photos/videos of your Cone Car tests on twitter - or upload them onto Hwb using the upload button!
Good luck and enjoy, I can't wait to see them!
